may 2021 updates...
if you’re reading this instead of my monthly newsletter, you also missed an etsy pre*order launch offer and a birthday giveaway, so make sure you’re on the list for next time! :D
survey says... uh, what's patreon?
here are last month's survey results from those who chimed in! :D
82.4% said emails twice a month or anytime something rad happens are cool by them!
63% of you might have known i had a patreon, but didn't understand what that means, exactly... a bit more below!
votes on the next faerie tale feet painting varied (although i do have a 12 dancing princesses one already!), and i have an IDEA i'll start working on once book edits are done (again) and i start querying agents; ill of course keep you posted. :)
and in order of popularity, the content you guys like: work in progress/painting pics; monday's weekly reading book reviews; time-lapse painting videos; and tied-- fan photos of merch, life events/travel, and all the art stuff! yay! i'll keep at it all! :)
thank you for your responses!!
so what's patreon?
patreon is a monthly membership platform that lets superfans engage with their favorite people. like artists, authors, musicians, podcasters, and more. you might not need to commission a painting, or you can't make it to a concert, BUT you want to support what your favorite creatives are doing.
on my patreon page, you can support my work as an artist and author for as little as $3 a month! or $5. or $10. or $20! each membership level comes with its own perks and posts. things like phone wallpaper downloads with new art from me, etsy discounts, behind-the-scenes sketchbook peeks, monthly book reports & painting process videos i don't post on instagram, and even original art for your walls! click HERE to read all about it and let me know if you have any questions! :)

already a member? please tell your friends! the more patreons we have, the more i can stick to my goals and create new art & stories just for you!! :D
the best books i read in april:
kisses and croissants, by anne-sophie jouhanneau: for fans of anna & the french kiss or love & gelato. travel to ballet school in paris and chase (or change) your dreams and an ancestor who may or may not be in a degas painting. :)
dear ally, how do you write a book? by ally carter: full of great reminders and advice for authors of all skillsets, compiled from FAQs asked at hundreds of school visits over the years!
when you trap a tiger, by tae keller: last year's newbery medal winner for middle grade fiction, it's grief and folklore, family and magic
pride and premeditation, by tirzah price: so i was put off by the LIME GREEN cover, but it's really just a fun retelling of pride & prejudice. you know, if lizzie was a detective and collins works for her dad's lawfirm and bingley's been framed for murder... ;D
currently reading:
the other bennet sister, by janice hadlow: it's behind the scenes of pride & prejudice; or, rather, the story we know so well told by a sidelined character: mary. the middle (patently mousy) sister. i bought it for myself for my birthday last year, so figured i better finally read it this week. ;)
the once and future king, by t.h. white: it's always good for a re-read of a classic. and there's some tie*ins with the book i'm writing, so details and a refresh were in order. :)
check out my book recs + support local bookstores!!
just some things i'm currently obsessed with*
*totally not sponsored, i just can't stop staring. :)
just everything vesper stamper has to say. she's articulate, well*read, has a super*soothing podcast voice and is just really wise about all the things.
vesper is also an accomplished author & illustrator and along with my all-things-austen current & recent reads, the book she illustrated, a most clever girl: how jane austen discovered her voice, just came out! it's gorgeous.
on scene in chattanooga
last month was my first in*person art show in over a year and a half! i got to take new paintings and faerie tale feet reproductions to tennessee, and it was great to see people out and about and collecting art again! my next show isn't scheduled until september, so contact me if you would like a painting before then! ;) there's a time-lapse of tent set up here. :)
