disney's new star wars "hotel?" i have FEELINGS.

have you seen this?!

things i appreciate:

it’s kind of like taking a cruise, but without the sea sickness.

but also without the tropical weather.

immersive story.

but i’m also terrified of interactive theatre (hello, actors, i love you, but please stay on the stage while i’m at your performance.)

light sabers.

i feel like i would kick butt while my husband stands to the side and laughs at me.

that’s why i’m gonna take beth revis with me instead.

(hi, beth.  this is your invitation.  when can we go?!)  ;D

that on the second day they release you into the star wars section of the park.

but other things i’m nervous about:

feeling trapped.

no outside views or windows?

i get we’re in a spaceship, but i’m pretty sure i’d get claustrophobic without seeing or walking outside for 30+ hours?  do they have a panic exit?  or do we get sucked into space if we chicken out and have a panic attack and head for fresh air?

the whole “disney is for kids” mindset.

of course i don’t agree with it, but have they made accommodations for just grown-ups without kids?  not all families have kids.

also, i’m super curious who they tested this on.

have people already lived in a hollywood soundstage going through the trappings and the space windows to see how they handle it for 2 days?

and how many can they accomodate?

it’s not like the all-star disney resorts where you can stay for a week and go to the parks when you want.

so, i’m hesitantly for it.

i HOPE it’s accessible to all.

(gotta be cheaper than a disney cruise, yeah?! maybe?!)

and i HOPE it’s easier to get into than just being a celebrity or a sweepstakes winner to get to stay in the cinderella castle overnight at magic kingdom (don’t get me started.  i can’t handle not being able to do that. ack!!)

so those were the immediate thoughts i had after watching the preview trailer and have been pondering for the past few days because i can’t stop thinking about it. ;)
